For Alison Burns the passion for performing began at the early age of 2 when her parents say she began harmonizing with them as they rehearsed songs with their church band. Following in her parent’s footsteps, Alison’s first solo was in church, as well as her first tour. At the ripe age of twelve Burns booked a southern tour with gospel group, The Young Continentals, and recorded her first album with Generation Blessed just a few years later. It was clear, her career had started but she insisted on developing her talent, and so she moved to New York City to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Just two months after graduation Burns booked her first Broadway National Tour with RENT! where she stepped into the swing position. After a year on tour she re-signed as Maureen where she "jumped over the moon" for audiences all over the US. and Canada.
In 2005 Alison moved to Tampa Bay to pursue her other passion; teaching. She co-founded act up!!!, a youth theater company for kids creating original theatre and she was named Education Director at New Stage Conservatory located at Country Day World School in Largo. Burns received a 2010 & 2012 Loafie Award for “Best Actress" in Tampa and you can consistently see her on stages all across the bay area. When she isn't on stage you can find her writing lyrics and touring the world with composer David Friedman in his original show Listen to My Heart.
Alison made her Off Broadway debut in the hit musical comedy DISENCHANTED in 2012 and has since starred in numerous commercials, short films and feature films both locally and nationally.
She currently owns and operates a voice and acting studio in Largo, FL - Find Your Light Coaching.
In her spare time she plays a big part in the best cast ever, her family: Husband, Chris Jackson and their daughters, Emma Grace and Hannah Juliette.
